I had plans to meet Tina from Taiko in Shinjuku to see Charlie and the Chocolate Factory starring the ultra-fine Johnny Depp.
So, armed with two maps and a foolish sense of confidence, I set out on what I thought would be a 20-minute train ride. One hour and about 20 increasingly frantic text messages later, I realized that Shinjuku is the Osaka of Tokyo. Shinjuku Station is a small city. I never even made it to the street.
Home now. Full of chocolate.
(PS. No idea who that kid is.)
