I'm so happy this week is finally over. It seemed like I spent the entire week in the back of a taxi, shuttling from one meeting to the next. Which, come to think of it, I did.
I'm working with one set of clients from a foreign-based manufacturer (meaning, not Japanese). Although they all speak English, for most of them it's not their first language. Communication can be tricky and it's always exhausting.
Miki and I planned to go out and shake off the week and maybe shake a tailfeather. We met up in Roppongi and had dinner at a place specializing in Oden. I rarely know the names of the restaurants I go to and this was no exception. The food was weird, but delicious: lots of soupy mixtures and fried stuff. Most of the food is prepared in the middle of the restaurant and kept hot in huge steam tables.
After a lot of food and drink, we left the restaurant debating over whether to go to karaoke or and Irish pub. We flipped a coin (but you can't do "heads or tails" because there are no heads on the coins) and karaoke it was.
I definitely missed my calling as a rock star.

That's all great, but when the hell are you coming home?!
You should be leading INXS. Do you know about that show? With regard to the fish cookies -- kind of like low carb pasta, no?
Who the hell are those ugly kids? And where are you?!

Further explanation of Al Albert's showcase: for those of you who aren't from Philly.
It was every kid's dream (well, OK, it was MY dream) to perform on Al Albert's Showcase. You got to wear a frilly dress, maryjane shoes, and tell really bad knock knock jokes to "Uncle Al."
Alas, it was not to be...
PS. aucfwda (a great name for a german skate boarder)
